Hi 👋 guys. So in this post I will be writing about coping strategies when it comes to dealing with anxiety. I live with anxiety on a daily basis and I understand how bad it can get when it comes to anxiety.
A bit about anxiety:
Anxiety is a general term for several disorders that cause fear, apprehension, nervousness and worrying. Anxiety can affect how we feel and behave. Sometimes it can cause physical symptoms as well.
The difference between normal worry and anxiety:
It is important to know the difference between normal feelings of anxiety and an anxiety disorder that requires this medical attention.
When you are in danger/harm that can cause worrying triggers, feelings of anxiety are normal and necessary for survival. Ever since the times of the cavemen and cavewomen, the approach of predators and incoming danger has alerted our body and this has allowed our species to take emergency action. These alarms are noticeable in terms of sweat, heart beating faster and being alert to the surrounding environment.
An anxiety disorder happens when a reaction is out of proportion to what night normally be expected in a situation. Anxiety is a disorder that is described as having constant repotting intrusive thoughts and concerns.
An anxious feeling can be severe at times due to a trigger or something that stressed you out. Physical symptoms, such as increased blood pressure and nausea, may also be a side effect or symptom of this. These responses move beyond anxiety into an anxiety disorder.
Some of the strategies that I use to cope with anxiety:
– Exercise well on a regular basis
– Take some relaxing time out for you
– Eat well
– Rest as much as you can
– Limit your alcohol and caffeine intake
– Do your best
– Accept that you cannot control everything
– Take deep breaths
– Welcome laughter
– Help people in your area
– Get involved in doing social neighborhood activities
– Maintain a positive attitude
