Morning Reflections…(Identity Crisis)

Looking at the three temptations, we find that satan employed the same strategy in a bid to make Jesus give in to his temptations. He always started by questioning Jesus’ sonship status. He did this in order to cast doubt in Jesus’ mind about his status as the son of God.

If Satan could attempt to try and make Jesus doubt his sonship, how much more you and i? This suggests that if Stann can make us for one-second doubt our sonship in Christ, he can make us act out of character or do things that are contrary to the will of God so that we will fall prey to his temptations and this could result in derailing our destiny.

The enemy constantly creates negative circumstances around us that constantly question our status as sons of God. What are you going through that has lingered for so long, creating doubts in your mind about your sonship and forcing you to contemplate taking some decisions that are contrary to Gods word?

Are you considering suicide because you’ve lost all hope in yourself and society? Are you considering having a child with a married man, because you’ve lost hope of getting married? “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ- 2 Corinthians 10:4-5”.

Just as Jesus used God’s word to bring into captivity every negative thought satan posed at him during the temptations, I encourage you to also speak God’s word to bring every thought into captivity immediately they cross your mind. Please don’t give them time to settle.

I need us all to get to the point in our lives, where our status of being sons and daughters of God is not dependent on what God can do but on WHO HE IS.

Good morning everyone. Have a great day.

Blessings and Love
